Video Editing

Video editing is an essential skill in creating effective educational or professional content. It can positively impact teaching and learning experience through forming more diverse and informative learning material. It has the ability to draw connections between different content and provide learners with a more comprehensive understanding of a subject. However, poorly edited videos could lead to a loss of essential content or a failure to deliver key information. It would result in an adverse effect towards transferring knowledge and hinder the effectiveness of the original material. 

By editing the previous screencast, the video is more fluent and viewers are able to follow the procedures more easily and clearly. With added text and transitions, the video will be more approachable and visually appealing. Below is the edited version of the screencast from the previous week.

Multimedia Evaluation Models

Apart from learning how to create different types of multimedia, it is also important to know how to evaluate multimedia objects to ensure they are effective at fulfilling their intended purpose. It is interesting to see that the two models emphasize different concepts and evaluate multimedia with different dimensions. According to the SAMR model, an outstanding multimedia should be more than just an enhancement to the current tools, but act as a medium to transform tasks (Hamilton et al., 2016). The SECTIONS model brings a more comprehensive analysis towards multimedia, especially in the usage in academic settings. From my observation, the SAMR model focuses on macro-level concepts, while the SECTIONS model delivers more micro-level or specific criteria of selection.
